Join Peggy Koivu, a certified instructor, retired teacher and co-founder of the Odyssey Multiage Program, for an interactive presentation highlighting key components of the Positive Discipline parenting program, based on the books by Dr. Jane Nelsen and featuring practical research-based tools and strategies to try at home. Be sure to bring your questions, too!

About Positive Discipline: It is a parenting program designed to teach children to become responsible, respectful, and resourceful members of their communities.

Developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen, the program teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults. Parenting with Positive Discipline is effective long-term and helps children feel a connection — a sense of belonging and significance.

Some of the topics include:

  • using routines effectively

  • strengthening your child’s problem-solving skills

  • exploring tools to encourage independence

  • finding solutions together

  • improving communication with your child

Recommended for parents of preschoolers and elementary school students.

$20 per Person or $25 per Couple

"Pay What You Can" option also available

This workshop is made possible thanks to the One Call for All donations made in support of Raising Resilience.

* Please note that the interview refers to the original date for this program which has been cancelled due to inclement weather and rescheduled to March 19.
