“I signed up because it was a way to quickly and effectively find jobs. It allowed me to be more independent and find work outside of doing odd jobs for relatives/neighbors. I have gained the skills of better time management, the ability to apply for jobs, and skills within the jobs themselves (dogsitting/yardwork).”

Welcome to the BYS Jobs Board! The BYS Jobs Board has been a community service since 1982, connecting youth with local, short-term work opportunities. Potential employers contact BYS with a short job description including necessary tasks, location and pay rate and we pass on the information directly to young people by email. Interested students respond directly to the potential employer and the two determine if it is a mutual fit. See more info & disclaimer below. For more information please review FAQ.

For youth: to receive periodic emails about job opportunities around the community and/or volunteer opportunities in exchange for community service hours, please subscribe by entering your name and email below:

For potential employers: to post a job, please complete the form below. Please note that jobs are not posted outside of our business hours (9am-5pm, Mon-Fri). Also note that jobs go out by email and you may receive inquiries from multiple youth about a job.

Some things to consider when posting a job:

  • Jobs Board recipients are mostly high school-aged youth. They are in school 8:45am-3:15pm, September through mid-June.
  • For some youth, this is their first work experience
  • Minimum wage in Washington state as of January 1, 2024 is $16.28/hour
